Vaz de Almeida Advogados announces the creation of a new area specialized in Tax Advice and Planning. Under the same name, this new area will be headed by Ana Lidia Cunha, who undertakes the responsibility for the new business unit, aimed at providing our clients with solutions on:
■ tax restructuring;
■ identification of opportunities and reduction of tax risks;
■ compliance with accessory obligations and internal processes;
■ tax planning based on operational and business goals;
■ prevention of controversies with tax authorities;
■ technical advisory to the accounting, tax, and controllership areas;
■ consultancy on implementing tax departments;
■ training and workshop facilitation — among others.
Ana Lidia Cunha
Ana Lidia Cunha works with tax law for 25 years and teaches MBA in Tax Management at Live University. Ana has an MBA in Economics and Company Law by Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), and specialization in SPED (Public Digital Bookkeeping System) by Thomson Reuters’ Tax & Accounting, Indirect Taxes by APET (São Paulo City Association of Tax Studies), and Strategic Tax Management by Trevisan. She was a tax consultant at PwC Brazil and a tax manager at Globo Cochrane.
According to the firm’s founding partner, Caio Vaz de Almeida, the new Tax Advice and Planning area provides «our clients and partners with numerous possibilities in terms of tax knowledge, from restructuring to planning, with the legal and technical background that characterizes our work.» The area already has a high work demand and should be expanded in the next few months. The creation of this new area not only substantially increases our technical span but also strengthens the firm’s synergy, adding up to the Tax Litigation (coordinated by lawyer Mauricio Nucci) and Legal Business Support (led by lawyer Amanda Duarte) areas.
